So I was tightening the drop out screws on the non-disc side of my '04 888r and noticed there wasn't much torque as I continued to tighten. Looking closer I saw a crack along the bottom by the screws. Talk about bummed :(
Do you think this will be covered by warranty?
Has anyone else had this problem?
Lastly, will this pose further problems while riding until I get it check out?

Thanks for any input.

They're are usually pretty good about that stuff. If you have time you should just drive it up to there shop in Valencia. Most likely they will just replace it on the spot. If they're real busy you may have to pick it up the next day. I've taken broken parts up to them twice now and both times had them replaced and was offered expresso.

well it was probly your fault. not trying to be blunt but marz warn about tightening the lowers on theose forks. you have to alternate from bolt to bolt as you tighten. to keep form putting too much pressure on the drop and cracking it. theyll probly warranty it though . there pretty good w/ that

Sweet, that's much better than waiting for a month by way of the LBS!

It may be a warranty, but the guys in the back will have to check it out first... As for riding with a cracked drop out, don't do it... You can bring it in or call our tech department and send it in...

I just talked with the tech guys today, they said it could be switched same day if I'm there early.
