Have anybody heard about cracked Karpel's ?
Especially about the Disco Volante...

Eli.

the disco weakspot is the head tube area, the rest of the front and the swingarm are very very tough, so if youre looking to buy an used one, check that part out first.

post back if you need any more help or pm me.

My buddy had a disco V that seemed fine (he was around 140lbs) but he started complaining that the suspension action was wierd. We took it apart and all of the pivot-axles in the suspension were bent.

yea that happened after a good amount of abuse, but only on the older 3/8" ID bearing pivots, did your friend use chainring bolts or rotor bolts in his pivot axles?

it was older, but i have no idea what bolts were in there...this was like 3 years ago :D

this guy was just not an abusive rider though, and he was real light to boot. just wierd that it would do that given how little abuse he could dish out (didn't do drops, didn't go mach9)...

yea youre right it should definitely happen under mild riding, easy enough fix though, no tools needed other than a t25 and a vise, or a bfh.
