the disco weakspot is the head tube area, the rest of the front and the swingarm are very very tough, so if youre looking to buy an used one, check that part out first.
My buddy had a disco V that seemed fine (he was around 140lbs) but he started complaining that the suspension action was wierd. We took it apart and all of the pivot-axles in the suspension were bent.

yea that happened after a good amount of abuse, but only on the older 3/8" ID bearing pivots, did your friend use chainring bolts or rotor bolts in his pivot axles?

it was older, but i have no idea what bolts were in there...this was like 3 years ago
this guy was just not an abusive rider though, and he was real light to boot. just wierd that it would do that given how little abuse he could dish out (didn't do drops, didn't go mach9)...
