Towing the party line.
The Airlines were awesome for shifting performance when the rest of the stuff sucked at the time. They shifted about as well as a modern XO. Thr problem was were extremley limited availability If you busted something, you were screwed. The tank held a few hundred shifts from what I recall. I did a few runs on a big equipped with them and was throroughly impressed.

Does this mean that we can no longer make fun of the system? Or can we, simply because someone's trying to unload their system?

Airlines is the best shifting I've ever felt.
Would be cool if they brought it back, with replacement parts available. Also would be neat to weld and tap a monocoque frame, to use the frame itself as an air bottle.

And you could have a little clip on the bars to hold a pair of tweezers so you could conveniently get the shrapnel out of your nuts when the frame broke. :bonk:

I think it could be done, easily. An integrated frame member could be built to be a hell of a lot stronger than the original Airlines bottles... Those things were pinner-thin, like a soda can.
