yea, its because everything in the bike industry is priced differently in each country, they consider the stregnth of currency and blah blah blah.

which is why is some pedals are 50 pounds they wont be 100 dollars. theyll be like 70-80 dollars

yep, i suck at explaining it haha

    Engrish?

Even I don't know what I am talking about.

Just found it odd that I can order a part from the U.K. and get it cheaper then I can in the U.S. especially since the dollar is so weak right now that a few dealers have changed to not shipping outside the U.S.

did you consider that in the US all prices are quoted without sales tax?

still doesnt change a thing in germany most bicycle parts are about 40-45% more expensive then in the US and sales tax + import duties are about 25%... go figure ^^

Ah! The old how do Chain Reaction do stuff so cheap question. . .

It might be OEM sourced through a different route than the usual distributor therefore cutting out the midleman and avoiding the markup. (though they make just be giving an awesome deal on it)

CRC shift an enormous amount of gear and have extremely good contacts, not to mention huge buying power - it means they get good deals and pass them on to us the end user. God knows we need to get some breaks over here. . .

A better question is why is everything twice as expensive over here in the UK - even stuff that doesn't come from/through the USA.

as for the cranks in question shimano uk have them on special at the moment. We bought a load of them and can sell them at the same price as crc. They do however usually send alot of oem shimano stuff out the door. There not really that much cheaper than your lbs in the uk/ireland. Most Lbs should match there price if they value you enough as a customer and you ask nicely.
