I've got these old XT cranks that I got 2nd hand in this condition about a year ago, anyways am riding new cranks now but would like to refurbish these for when I sell my bike.

should I get them anodised again, full polish, how do i remove old anodising ?

I don't think I can remove the spider though....an suggestions would be great.....thanks

I had a old pair of those and hit them up with a fine wire wheel from a bench grinder. They looked pretty cool to. Nice polished look.....jdcamb

You need a "lump wheel" and some wax..

Remove the old stuff with 1200grit sandpaper and then buff them..

Ends up very bling :D

But really.. Buy new spockets and bolt them on and go ride allready..

well, I had them blasted with glass beads and then then smoothed em up with some steel wool and then some metal polish, also gav the siider a quick going over with some rattlecan atin balck an a hair dryer......looks rather good.

had though about painting the arms but that would just chip off eventually, so the polishe look ai really quite practical, will post a pic just now.
