Crank set up questions...

Can someone help me here? I have an 04' Trek Liquid that came with a set of Bontrager Race cranks. I NEVER use the large, 3rd ring and the crank arms flex like mad!

I'd like to upgrade to something a little beefier (less flex) with a 22-32/Bashguard/chainguide set up. Since the Bonty's are ISIS drive BB, could I just swap out the Bonty "stuff" to say, the Truvativ Hussefelt RG crank-set in a 22/32t config? I'm also looking at the e.thirteen DRS chain guide.

So with all that said, would this set up work? Any other suggestions?

That will definitely work.

I wouldn't reccommend Hussefelt's though, they're too heavy and too weak. At least get a set of Holzfellers if you must use Truvativ. I prefer FSA V-drive or V-drive Extreme, or Race Face - Turbines for lightweight, Northshores for ultimate strength.

they kick butt and feel great.
Plus they arn't to expensive.
Get the splined ones with the FSA BB.

Yes, you can definitely do that. You'll have to use the ISCG Adapter (BB mount bracket) so make sure if you buy a used DRS that it comes with that.

hey sub6 and all thanks for the feedback. I just shot an e-mail over to the guys at e.thirteen and they have the DRS in stock as well as confirming the compatibility with the Bonty crankset.

Only thing is, if I go down this route, I'm stuck with 4-104 bolt patern bashgurad unless I pony up the extra $35 bucks for the supercharger kit should I choose a 5 bolt patteren crankset.....

Race Face North Shore DH crankset? Next LP's? Turbines? Truvative Holzfeller's, 170 or 175mm?? decisions, decisions.....
