hey yall
i just scored some a can of CRC Engine Degreaser to degrease my chain that is all gunky and sticky since i retardedly lubed it with headset/bb grease.

now this CRC stuff looks serious and was recomended by the HW store guys as "THE ****". now, will it work good, or would it be too much/too powerful to degrease/clean a chain?

It should be fine. I've worked in a shop where they used safety clean as their degreaser. That **** causes cancer, eats rubber and peels skin. The stuff you have should be fine.

In the future just get Simple Green concentrate at home depot in the big jugs and use it straight. Works like a charm and its "non toxic" so they say. With the real strong stuff you just need to make sure you get everything good and lubed because all the grease inside the chain rollers gets taken out too. I have a little container filled with pedros extra dry and soak my chain for a few minutes. This gets everything nice and coated.
