Creaking bottom bracket

I fixed my juicy seven problem, but now it seems that my bottom bracket is creaking. We took it apart and greased it up and it seemed to lessen the creaking a little but it is still going on. I have a 2004 XT Hollowtech II Crankset, if that helps.

Often the cause is the fitting of the non-drive cup and the BB. It can be fixed adding some teflon tape where the two meet. If that's not it then your bearings are shot or the cranks are wearing out. hope this gives you some ideas

teflon tape is ok but I used the other day like teflon glue and I had the worst creak it made u wanna throw up and I took apart my BB and cranks and cleaned it as well as i could then put a lil on the theads of everything and put it back together and make sure u tighten eveything and make sure ur BB is threaded in right(it can be hard sometimes) but teflon tape or glue should be fine.

try putting some light grease on the BB spline on the non-drive side (you have the new one piece BB/crank right?).

As others have said, rule out the other possibilities before you have to dismantle your crank/bb again. Pedals, seatpost, seatrails (or even put a different saddle on).

Check your pedal's too. The last time I thought my crank was creaking it was just the pedals. Put some grease in between the pedal and the crank and fixed it right up.
