I just ordered a 02' dj2, and heard they make creaking noises from dust/debre getting between the 2-piece-lowers. Is this true? If true, then wouldn't putting duct tape where the 2-piece-lowers meet prevent creaking?

Damn...out of stock. I guess I won't be getting one...nooooooo
They creaked because of tolerances distorting between crown and stanchion. The new 2003 forks that have larger stanchions among other structural refinements should stop this.
