I just can't believe that people who've lost their trust in the political system would even consider her a valid candidate or even pay $100K to hear her speak! She's clueless!! Not to be considered White House material!!

As much as I agree with that statement, just you watch. The pessimist in me says we must fear her, she will figure prominently in the next election. I'm no gambling man but I'd put money down on her being a serious threat in 2012.

But come on you guys.....isn't there the slightest bit of morbid curiosity? I mean, wouldn't you love to see her on the world stage making catastrophically bad decisions over and over? Sure it may mean end of of humanity, but it could be pretty funny too!

We had a bumbling idiot for 8 years, and the comedians had a FIELD DAY with him. He couldn't pronounce "nuclear", he spent most of his time on his ranch clearing brush, and he proceeded to fvck up every pie he stuck his grubby little fingers in... And now we're paying the price with skyrocketing deficits, never ending wars, and an economy that's in tatters.

Yeah, real funny.

No. No there is not a shred of curiosity. Okay, maybe a shred, but only if we had a rewind button and could automatically fix all the crap she screws up...

I bet Todd Palin's pick up line to Sarah when they were in class together was to hand her his calculator with the numbers "5318008" punched into it upside down...

Unfortunately, I couldn't agree more. Very sad state of affairs in this country when someone as equally dumb or dumber than Bush is seriously considered an option for president.

What is it about her that makes people think she is qualified to actually be the president? I thought in the last election it became painfully clear that she was totally unqualified to be the vice president. Now she is being considered a legitimate candidate for the presidency?

May the flying spaghetti monster have mercy on our souls.

Half the problem nowadays is that politicians are trying to "relate" to the general public. And the general public wants to vote for politicians they can relate to. The other half of the problem is that the general public is comprised of complete fvcking idiots.

And the really funny part is that they think the same thing about you. And they think this because you don't comprehend that someone like palin understands what 'really' needs to be done.
The same way that we need to start using Brawndo on crops, because its got what plants crave?

She flat-out made my mind up as well when she was chosen. I was leaning towards BHO, and if McCain has chosen Romney (and not completely flubbed the economic disaster in Sept. '08) it might've made the decision bit harder. As soon as she got up on stage with the Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaverick, I opened my checkbook and sent $$ to Obama.

I was trying to figure out what she brings to the table, since it's obviously not rational thought processes or knowledge of how the world works. If I ever hear the words President and Palin together after an election, I will be moving my family out of the USA.

I can only think Sarah's a red herring. She'll get the base fired up. She'll get the Left even MORE fired up. She'll crash and burn, leaving someone more moderate to pick up the fired up and angry base but that's also capable of picking off moderates.

Of course, that didn't work with Dean, at least in the short term. He fired up the base, crashed and burned, and then Kerry got slaughtered by an inarticulate moron. If the GOP runs Sarah, they're going to lose, and lose BIG. If they sideline her and try to get someone more moderate, they're probably STILL going to lose, since all of the hard-right-wingers are going to feel butt-hurt that the GOP moderates eliminated the hard-liners.

I hate that there is a 2 party system... You could pick off a lot of moderates by going with a fiscally responsible platform focusing on the fact that the two parties have ripped our country apart and made us serfs by confusing the issues of religion and social responsibility. But then again, that would require there being enough people who vote with their minds, so... we're f'd.

No, the problem is is that Americans as a whole are too STUPID to have figured out what they want isn't always good for them, and what's good for them isn't always what they want. Hence you have California with a laundry list of spending and no way to pay for it. What we need now is to cut spending and raise taxes. Can you imagine what would happen if a politician stood up and said that right now? Even the loony tea-baggers are pretending that fiscal responsibility is more unfunded tax cuts. Palin even crossed out "Budget Cuts" in favor of "Tax Cuts" when she was writing her crib notes on her hand, because "Budget Cuts" sounds (correctly) like you're going to be taking away something from people.

I'd vote for it. As much as I do think the majority of the country is made up of slack-jawed, mouth-breathing swamp rapists, I think a lot of other moderates would vote for it too. The problem is, that platform would never make it through the primaries.

and that's inaccurate. our nation has a rich diversity of racists. such as the mountain racist, the plains racist, the desert racist...

I seriously doubt you could get enough moderates to even get into the double digits polling this. People on the left would whine (and scream) about fewer services (see town halls where people THOUGHT that they were going to get their Medicare taken away) and people on the right would moan (and scream) about higher taxes (see tea baggers bitching and moaning about taxes THAT AREN"T EVEN PROPOSED YET).

Which is why we shall fail. How can one go short the US Govt, when you are denominated in USD?
