Think VPP style pivots that Santa Cruz and Intense uses: expanding pivot bolts with those tapered cone adjuster spacers.

My issue was I was getting side to side play in my lower linkage (Carbine 29). The bearings spun smoothly when I had the linkage in my hand all apart, but I couldn't reassemble it without either having lateral play in the linkage and smooth working suspension, or solid linkage and bearings binding and causing rough suspension. The bike uses 7902 Enduro Max bearings.

I ordered all new parts to replace the lower link, bolts and cone adjusters. But until I get those, I'm wondering if the bearings are still good and there's something else going on:

- Despite the bearings feel smooth in my hands, the inner race feels a little loose. I wonder if that's normal or a sign the bearings are shot and any pressure on them (when tightening the pivot bolts) are causing them to bind. If you think of headset bearings, they feel solid with no play whatsoever.
