Thought about taking the boat out for some crab but.........

SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR AREAS OF OREGON AND WASHINGTON FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING
THE PEAK OF THE THREAT WILL BE 2 PM TO 8 PM
HIGH WINDS GUSTING TO 60 MILES AN HOUR OR MORE POSSIBLE
DESTRUCTIVE HAIL OF AN INCH TO INCH AND A HALF POSSIBLE
FLASH FLOODS POSSIBLE IN THE CASCADES FROM NORTH OF DIAMOND LAKE TO THE CASCADES IN WASHINGTON.
Things are supposed to get spotty here. Wonder if we will actually get rain or if lightning will just ignite the whole state.

Fucking tired. Day one of opening weekend at the new track. Got Haley signed up as a member, which hurt. It will be a lot cheaper by eoy, but still hurt.

Haley also had her first real crash two times today. The track is freshly paved, so it's slick. You go into turn 1 at 60mph, so when you're learning the track, it's the consequential turn.it also happens to have a bump at the braking point and feeds into an irrigation ditch.

The first time she went off, she was airborne about 2' off the ground for about 25', landed then shot up the other side of the ditch, barely missing the perimeter fence. The second was the same, but only about 20' of distance. The kart doesn't look to be damaged, but it will be going back to the shop after tomorrow to make sure that it's not bent.

She is really stiff, has bruises at the top and bottom of where her rib/chest protector lies, and apparently has a bruise right on her tailbone. We're supposed to go back out tomorrow, but we'll see. She will also be able to drive a Sr KA100, which is the more powerful version of the motor she will be driving next year, on a full-sized kart. She's already doing the same pace as them in her kart, but it's a much harder kart to drive. We shall see depending on how she feels.

Hannah bailed on the swim competition today. Despite being super competitive with most things, it's damn near impossible to get her to do anything where she might formally lose/not win. If I hadn't been at the track, I probably would have forced it, just to get her to understand that she needs to be on swim team - because she's done with swim lessons in 2 weeks.

Oh well. Rambling while I do my assigned 35min walk today, despite having not sat down, and been running around the track from 8am-4pm.

THIS JUST IN:
In case you need to be reminded, riding a light 140/150 bike Mach-looney with an air shock is not NEARLY as fun as riding a 170/180 with coil.

Also kinda scary.

That is all.

(However, it was a lot easier to climb 3k in 11 miles, that’s for sure)

Morning Monkeys.

Last night was seriously epic. Foo played for 3 hours. Oddly enough they only played like a dozen songs, but the crowd participation is what sells it.

Their very first show was in Portland in '95 at the Satyricon for like 100 folks. Shits come a long way.

We saw them a few tours back @ their last show in the U.S. before they headed to Europe.

They. Just. Kept. Playing! Was an awesome show! Threw in some covers, two super long encores.
