Just starting out in XC riding. Should I follow a more protein wise diet or carb diet?
What's good carbs? (pasta?)

Started this morning with scrambled eggs as breakfast, used to just have coffee. Does scrambled eggs still contain all it's protein or does it get lost while making it?
Complete n00b at nutrition :(

I would say to stay away from excess sugars, especially Corn Syrup in all it's evil forms. It contains tons of calories that do nothing for you but make you fat.

If you are concerned about protein, peanut butter has tons of it. Just be wary of the stuff that is loaded with hydrogenated oils.

you should eat well balanced meals throughout the day. for xc riding and racing, the nite before the race or ride, consume mass quantities of carbs (pasta is good) morning of oatmeal in moderate portions, some eggs whatever.
after the ride, replenish your carbs stores and also eat protein to help replenish your muscles and rebuild the tissues.

do some research as there is a plethora of options and information regarding diet and exercise.
