i just took out half of my BB cup on the non-drive side because it was upside down, so i turned it the wrong way.
the drive side is still in, with the cartridge attached, plus half the non-drive side.
it's metal, but thank got it appears to be steel and unhardened. i don't seem to have f'ed up my threading in the frame, but we'll see. are there any higher end bb's that come with plastic cups so i can just rip them out without a worry? i know i sound like im joking but im dead serious
It's probably time for one of those finicky sessions with a small cold chisel and a three pound maul. You make a nick in the BB piece so you stall the chisel and tap it in the direction that unscrews the piece. Agonizing pain in the ass, but it may work.

Big fat hammer?? Sounds like you might be scrued. What eaver you do just be carefull. I have seen this befor. I had a guy bring a bike to me ware he did the same thing. This is when i use to work for a bike shop. I tolde him i dont want the lyabilty of really messing up his frame. I wouldent take the job.
1. try to cut a slot in the broken cup with a dremel type tool and use a screwdriver to try to turn it.
2. get a hacksaw blade in some mole grips and very carefully saw through the cup in two places about 20 degrees apart. Then prise out the small section then the bigger section. There is a similar technique for seatposts.
3. take it to a decent bikeshop with a good experianced mechanic. This will be the hard part, you need to find someone who likes a challenge and has hopfuly done it before.
