Not surprised at either of those things. Doc is kind of a mad scientist. If you see them, tell them I said hi! (seriously! i miss hanging out in the platty parking lot with them!)


Is it weird that I would kill for Doc to make steel xc hardtail?

Have there been any confirmed prices of the Silencer yet? Review in Dirt had a price tucked away in the bottom corner, by UK standards it wasn't all that more expensive than a run of the mill alu frame.

It's got air assist which is hardly usable with the springs in. 15psi locks it out.
I've run one with one spring just to get more adjustability out of it.
ok i never really bothered with the air assist... tried playing with it a few years back and then just ignored it...

will try using one spring

For the record I tried it in my own '06 DJ1 today. I should add a little oil (to take up the space that was occupied by the springs), but it ran fine without. I had to play with the damping to make it feel right, but it does now. It's much more progressive. I really wasn't seeing that before because of how low the air pressure needed to be.
