Ok normally I don't post this way but I recently received a Supergo ad in the mail and they're seriously blowing out some inventory...a lot of items at and below cost...I just scored a few deals but I thiought I would let others know who were on a budget...get some before it's gone....D

Many go out of work because they don't offer a level of service that makes it worthwhile for a serious biker to shop there. I'm not going to pay twice what mailorder charges to have some acned geek who knows half of what I do mess up my bike while trying to act superior to me because he's a 'shop rat.' Fact is, I trust many mailorder places (go-ride and Unreal and Webcyclery, for example) to build a DH wheel for me, whereas I don't trust most LBSs as far as I can throw them. Then again, I haven't tried them all...but that's because I'm happy wrenching for myself at 1/2 price.

There's one local Performance shop that's got a good mechanic or two, but they're essentially a retail outlet for a mailorder chain, so I use them as much as it's convenient.

PS Wow, 3 posts and it came to this already?

In case you didn't notice, in your signature is a link to an online bikeshop...

And why is it my fault for getting the same part at 1/2 the price?

Have a cry. It's called "competition". If you can't compete, you're out... that's it.

Exactly....

Or at least LBSs should at least 'try' to be a bit more competitive or acknowledge the fact that they are getting trounced by mail order.

exactly...my LBS mehcanic has a serious inferiority complex....so I get what I need if the price is right and that's it...but If I can go to Supergo and buy a '04 camo Firefly for 329.99 out the door...then I'm not going to feel guilty about not supporting the local shop...a friend of mine picked up a '04 Shiver SC for 250.....D

yep deffinatly i agree with everyone.i would be useing mail order for my project bike but im doing it for what is known as a sr. project and have to have a mentor so i picked the owner of my lbs. so if you go that route make sure your hooked up with the owner cause then you can get some killer deals and the best service available. but other than that go with mail order for price and lbs for convience :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I guess they are blowing there stock out to make room for the new Fireflys. I hear the 05 model adjusts from 4"- 6" and run $700 w/20TA. If I don't find a Helius with a 1.5 then I'm getting one of them to fit a 1 1/8 headtube.
