"I've been aware of this result some time, and I agree that it is interesting and may make more sense in terms of dark matter than alternative gravity," he said. "However, it is premature to say so."

He said that a definitive detection of dark-matter particles would mean "grabbing them in the laboratory, not just inferring that their effects can be the only possible explanation for an observation before the alternatives have actually been checked."
I've always found the search for Dark Matter interesting. It seems people search for it because the don't like the cold unforgiving concept of a continuously expanding universe. It has been a while since I have read up on this but haven't there been some measurements that show that the universe is actually expanding at an increasing rate, negating the need for dark matter to make the math work?

As I understand things...

The universe is expanding at an increasing rate, but it doesn't negate the need for dark matter. We've measured the mass of our galaxy via calculations and found that it is much more massive than when we measure the viewable mass. Dark matter/energy is a hypothesis that was formulated to explain the discrepancy.

Did they take Oprah into consideration? If they did some measurments when she was huge and others when she was skinny it would throw them all out of whack.

dark matter is some pretty interesting shiz. i wonder how this will play into n-dimensional theory.
As far as I know (and anyone feel free to correct me on this) I don't think it will make much difference to current n-dimensional theory. I think the current theories already take into account about a 25% dark matter concentration in the universe. It seems as though the theoretical components already accounted for dark matter out of necessity (measurements didn't come out the way they theoretically should without something else being there) and this experiment was simply an attempt at verification the presence of that 'something else.'

not to mention he's quite Stinky to boot. it's as if he came from a Trail or Park. too bad personal hygiene can't be ordered from a taiwanese catalogue.
