The Fijian Navy is a bit of a joke (9 x30 year old patrol boats) but they actually have a larger army then NZ.... They use UN peacekeeping missions as a major form of revenue.

Fiji.... It's a bit of a clusterf*ck really, you got a choice of either a corrupt apartheit government or a corrupt repressive military dictator that's into beatings torture and murder as compliance tools.
Can't say I like either option.

I'm kind of half expecting the NZ government to step in if the Fijian's take out the navigation beacons on the reefs again...... Major stop off point for boats sailing to NZ so is a safety issue. And we currently have a frigate lurking around Tonga at the moment, so maybe it will get to play games with the Fijians soon?
