"SONOMA, Calif. (IMMEDIATE RELEASE) - "This is a world class venue, word is going to spread about this race; it's one of most organized races I've ever been to." These are the words of David Klaassenvanoorschot (KHS Bicycle) from Riverside, CA, who finished first in the Pro Men's Infineon Technologies Downhill Race at the Infineon Technologies Cougar Mountain Classic this weekend.

Klaasenvanoorschot set a course record time of 1:52.83 in the first-ever Downhill race at Infineon Raceway. The kid with the enormous last name, bobbled near the top of the course when a slight pedal slip broke his rhythm but he quickly recovered his composure and finished with a near-perfect run.

The downhill event marked the debut of Cougar Mountain, which sits nearly 400 feet above the raceway and offers panoramic views of the San Francisco skyline and Golden Gate Bridge and nearly 100-percent of the course can be seen from the base of the mountain, providing a spectacular view for spectators

Check out this picture of DK in his race run. Foot (clipless) off the pedal, front wheel tweaked, playing in a sandbox, and STILL won by 4 seconds! PINNA:

EDIT: Is that a Bell helmet he's wearing? Can't really tell...
