first shot of David K on his new bike/team. I don't yet know what gear (clothing) he'll be using, my guess is the same as the rest of the team - Azonic/O'neal? ...the Fox pants & Shoei helmet are from his MX collection.

It might be a while until i'm used to seeing him in those new colors.

So how was the race Jeremiah?...D
Race was alright...it didn't seem like a whole lot of people showed up on Saturday, so i was surprised to see a lot of people on Sunday for the race. A lot more than i expected at the first race of the year....but i guess w/ Big Bear gone, people have no where else to go....hmmmm

It was hot out too...not extremely hot, but it still sucked to sit out in the sun all day long sat & sun.....i kinda wanted to skip the photos & ride....we'll see how the sales turn out -- i'll then decide whether or not to bail on the photo & start racin again! :D ..... i did ride my 5.5 mtnx bike out for a few runs....boy am i sketchy right now!!!!

screw the colors....as long as you've got a dope paintjob on your helmet! :D :thumb: ....but ya, the color scheme/design kinda blows. but who cares right now...it's the off season - maybe they'll have a new jersey/bike color for the regular season. My point was to show you all that DAVID was on his NEW BIKE. there isn't much going on right now...so i figured it was the best thing goin ;)

& YES David, i was out there...who do you think took the photo!?!?!?! :thumb: :stupid: j/k. yah, i was the guy flipping you off every time you went by! hahah.

wow....so sad. I know you gotta pay the bills with a paying ride, but damn! ugly bike, ugly gear, ugly box van, horrendous sloppy pits. Anytime I had to setup my pits across from KHS I requested to move, they made the pits look like a shanty town in south africa.
Wishing David luck, an alcohol free summer and hope he can get KHS to clean up their act.

Racing for KHS after being on Intense must feel like riding in the shortbus

Yeah riding one of the best designs, and then going back to a design Intense ditched four years ago. The NEW KHS is the same thing as a OLD style M-1.
four years ago? Last time I checked their 2004 DH rig ie. The m1 was a horst link bike. Who cares what bike he is on I doubt he does, its free and hes making some peanuts off it so its all good. But for realio is the 2005 KHS gunna be horst or not?

Ain't no horst there!
ummm....I'm thinking that's an Azonic Eliminator straight outta the same old Taiwanese factory...that seatpost QR, the strut, linkage plates....oh yeah!

Top tube weld might be different but that's the same flavor

It boggles the mind that they showed that actual bike at a trade show booth!
I guess they figure if Azonic isn't gonna offer a fully built bike straight outta Asia, they might as well. Maybe it will be priced cheap enough to get a few new privateers into the game.....I remember the Taiwanese GT DH-i caused a massive swell in the market when it hit the shelf.

Do they still offer their program...that was the neatest thing in DH back in the day. Pro deal on a package deal that included frame, fork, headset, stem, bars, cranks, BB, hub and seatpost for any dude that applied at his dealer!!!!

Looks like KHS has come a long way in the last few years. That bike has got to be lite years better than that DirtWitch they had like 3-4 years ago.
Looks like a decent rig for the budget minded racer.

The team riders i have met are super cool......
Kudo's to them for getting in and hanging in the DH scene.

I was mainly talking about the bikes graphics...I have no beef with "cheap" bikes as long as they look cool. They have to be kidding with the "spray painted garage look".

And yes, exactly the shanty town I had in mind...seeing that in south africa when I went for the world cup was a ghastly site.

Look again. KHS pivots on the seatstay, not the chainstay. The bike is a linkage driven single pivot, not an FSR or Horst. This is the way older M1s were before they licensed the design from specialized.

Whatever, though. Nice that KHS is kicking some support down, even if the bike does look like it was painted by the same people who paint Roadmasters.

are you sure about this? I thought he has always used badged turners? I dont see why he would change now?

Yes i'm positive, mongoose has decided they want to get into the DH/FR market, so they are making a bike. I looks like the black diamond model they are making in 05.

They are varations of the I-drive idea.

I'm still amazed MinGnar managed to win a single race all year last year after a picture of him with an un-painted helmet doing FMX tricks was posted on the internet in March.

Good point. That picture was hideous. But come race season his kit seemed to look alot better. That may have had alot to do with his Custom Helmet Paint ;)

What this obviously means is that DK is going to win the NCS series.

Dylan,
is there a special coating on your helmets that makes internet pundits fall silent?
