The Ride for Recovery is a family fun and fitness event and a fundraiser for Dawn Farm. There will be bike rides, runs and walks with opportunities to participate at various
fitness levels, including rides from 10K to 100K, and 5 and 10 K runs/walks. Routes are along scenic, country roads and through a local Metro park. There will be five rest stops positioned along the routes, with restroom facilities, drinks, snacks and first aid. SAG support will offer participants assistance on all routes. All rides, jogs, and walks start and end at Dawn Farm in Ypsilanti. The event is supported by Team MANA, a cycling team of nurse anesthetists in Michigan who fundraise though biking. This event has been officially endorsed by the Michigan Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports.

Registration prior to the early deadline includes a Ride for Recovery T-shirt. There will be light breakfast snacks from 7:00 to 9:30, and a "Recovery Celebration" lunch with hot food from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. Families of participants and others who do not participate in a ride/run/walk event can have a tour of the 63 acre working farm, visit the farm animals and have lunch and snacks for a $5.00 fee.

In addition to a fun fitness event that the entire family can enjoy, the Ride for Recovery provides an opportunity to support a critical community service. Founded in 1973, Dawn Farm provides effective, compassionate and hope-filled professional care to members of our community who struggle with alcohol/other drug problems. Dawn Farm's continuum of services includes residential treatment, detoxification services, outpatient treatment, transitional housing, and community outreach programs that meet people with addictions where they are, whether in the mainstream of society, on the streets or in jail. Dawn Farm is committed to helping people find recovery, regardless of their ability to pay. Community support for events like the Ride for Recovery helps to keep these vital services available for those who need them most!
