DDOS, DNS root servers

Interesting. Must have quite a distributed network to take down the amount of bandwidth and CPU horsepower available @ the root servers.

Fortunately DNS is such a distributed system that most people will not even notice.

It affects Verizon FIOS users. I switched from their DNS servers to Google and OpenDNS for now. Their DNS servers had been outperforming the free ones on random test of various popular sites, but not this time...
