Dead brake lever..

Coming down super steep 1 mile section and when I get to the bottom my Juicy break lever goes dead. I pump the lever and the braking comes back and works the whole way home no problems. My question is what caused the lever to go dead and then work again without problems?

There's two possible explanations that I can think of. You may have some air in the line which could be causing problems once the line is heated up. There's also a slight chance that there may be a slow leak somewhere in the line. Probably not though since you'd probably only be able to pump the brakes up one or two times before you'd be completely out of extra fluid from the reservoir.

Other than that, I suppose something in the physical cartridge could be damaged, but there would probably be noticeable problems at other times and the brakes wouldn't start out feeling good.

Yup. Get your brakes bled. If that doesn't solve the problem. There might be a hole in the line, or the seals are bad. But try bleeding first.
