Who says the followers are supposed to prosper?
The problem of our economy being tied to cheap oil is still around and each day will be more and more evident as we tighten our belts. It's amazing with everything that's going on that isn't self-evident to the disillusioned as yourself.

i wish they would divert tax dollars into stimulating alternative fuel vehicles, they should have been doing this since the 70's when oil crisis first started rearing it's greedy head.

I saw gas prices here jump 8-cents here yesterday.... :(

difference between us and europe is europe heavily taxes gas to pay for all of the social services they provide for the poor and working classes. here, prices are high because the oil companies want to make ungodly amounts of money (as if they dont already)
