Dear diary/what would you do?

I bought a tripod from B&H. Video specific tripods come with a bowl mount that accepts either an adapter, or a specific fluid head with a ball base.

B&H lists the tripod here.

Read the features and the "what's in the box" list on the right. It says half-ball. That's what goes in a bowl.

Check these other listings from the same tripod company. All of them state half BOWL, and the 'what's in the box' list never states anything about a half ball.

My tripod of course doesn't come with the essential ball adapter. This pisses me off because I need to be using this tripod this weekend. I feel like I've got plenty of reason to be upset. I spent way too many hours looking for a lightweight, sturdy tripod (which this is), and really don't want to return it and start the search over. But I also got this one because I was expecting a complete system, ready to go. I really think they misrepresent what they're selling in this case.

Split decision - The description is vague, probably because there are fewer and fewer people who are capable of writing a precise description.
Nah, B&H is pretty together. They're one of the few companies I have no problem buying thousands of dollars of equipment from..........which I think I'm at the point of doing now.

I 'think' they probably just screwed up on this particular item, but the fact remains that I bought it based on the description......which is not how it was sold.

But the fact remains, they state there's a half ball in the box. What they sell is just the tripod legs with the feature of a half BOWL.

This is why buying on the internet is not always good because some idiot leaves out a crucial detail when writing the description.
I live in the woods though. I have to drive 40 minutes just to buy underwear. If it were 20 years ago, I'd be ordering from a catalog anyway. I agree, my situation sucks. But I've never had a problem with B&H so far. They're usually really good with their descriptions.

Anyway. My girlfriend thinks I've got a case in insisting that they send me a half ball adapter because that's very clearly what they state this thing comes with.

Thoughts?

And yes I'm musing this on a saturday instead of just dealing with them because they're closed until tomorrow and won't answer a phone. :D

I seriously doubt they'll see a mistaken description as owing you extra parts. They have good CS and I'm sure they'll offer a full refund but I'd say you are taking your own risks in buying an unknown part immediately before actually needing it.

They screwed up the description. That means they owe you a refund if you want one, including shipping. I don't really think it means they owe you extra parts.

I don't think the owe you anything but if they messed up and they value your future business they should ante up. You made your purchasing decision base on their description... in my business you'd get the missing part shipped gratis ASAP with an apology*.

*I'm not in the business of selling underwear to woodsmen so you're experience my be entirely different.

Okay, anybody have any opinions that aren't harsh reality?
