Picking up a used 2013 Glory frame and it comes with a RS Kage which I understand is the bottom of the barrel shock. I don't need some custom tuned Avy for this but would like to pick up something that will work a bit better than the Kage. Haven't read great reviews of the Vivid on the Glory but not much else I seem to be able to find. Will a Fox RC4 be a good choice or a CCDB?

Also looks like there are some good deals now on the 2014 Marz Moto C2R shock

The RC4 is far more reliable and IMO performs better than the CCDB and Vivid. If you can get the '14/15 Kashima RC4 with small shaft (1/2" diameter) you're onto a winner.

Most I've seen for sale don't state the shaft diameter, are all the Kashima ones the smaller shaft?

That bike was designed with the RC4 in mind. I have a 2010 and the RC4 has not let me down.

Only rode a '12 giant for a day, but it was equipped with a vivid air and it seemed to perform well.
