I will be getting a few new tires for the upcoming season. They will be form the michelin line. I will get some mud 3's for the muddy races, I race in the northeast and last season at tenney all it was was mud. Other that that I dont know exactly what to get, comp16's 2.5. or would something be better. My choices are limeted to the 2.5 because of my boxxer. The condidtions are always changing up here o something versitle would be nice.

Thanks,
Sean

I love the 2.2 Comp 16. You can use a Comp 16 2.5 in front and 2.2 in the rear. On the front I use then on the oposite direction, specially on tracks where you will need a lot of breaking.

i dont really like the micheline, i really dig the Kenda line. I guess the maxxis tires are ok, but more money.

From Michelin's website:

"Part of the complete Michelin DH arsenal that helped Greg Minnaar win the 2001 World Cup, the DH Comp16 Soft has special scoop-shaped knobs, precisely spaced for maximum grip and stability. Its heavy duty reinforced casing resists cuts, while the special soft rubber compound grips even in extreme conditions. Placing a Comp 16 on the front and a Comp 24.1 can be a good handling combination."

I ran the Comp16 2.5" / Comp24 2.2" combo for a while and it's good for courses with intermediate soil. For hardpack conditions I loved the Comp24's front and rear because of the more rounded profile.

The muds are awesome. This past year we had a race on a hill that is all clay. It rained all morning and I only fell once when someone fell in front of me on a chute and i had to avoid him.
