There is a pipe shop somewhere in downtown Vancouver where the owner take frequent smoke breaks with their customers. My friends told me this. Since I am a POLICE OFFICER, I havent been there in person.

When i was up in Vancouver there was a guy sitting on the street smokin a J (3 in the morning). A beat cop walked by and told him to put it away. The stoner smiled and abided. this was like over 5 years ago.

Some pro-crack group was trying to setup a government funded crack house in downtown Van. They claim it will provide a safe environment for the crack heads to expirement with their drugs. I saw that on FOX news.

GO! SEAHAWKS!
We were on the ferry last weekend and it was all over the place. There wasn't any effort to hide is what so ever.

I can't count the times I have ran across people smoking on the trails up at Whistler.

Although a very lax environment compared to the states, BC ain't no Amsterdam. You can get great goodies there, but you have to know someone or at least meet someone in Blunt Bros, HempBC or one of the other places stoners congregate. If you know where to look, you will be very happy; if you don't, you'll be better off than in most places here in the States, but not by as much as would be nice.

you can get some pretty good strands up there (especially the domestic ones) over the counter if you're a normal person, if you find the right headshops. Good prices too

To answer the question. Last I heard it was legal to carry a small amount (forget the amount)...

Really no big deal, easy to find and easier to smoke. I find it funny how many people hide in the bushes (tourists and new kids from around the world) while I will (in the past) walk up and ask them why they are hiding, while I have a J hanging out of my mouth. I have even walked by cops, they don't like it being done in public for the perception but won't bug you...much :)

Sorry Keg, but you're wrong on this one. Check out one of the shops in the news recently in downtown Vancouver. Apparently, they have been selling bud to anyone over 19. It's become a concern for the local conservative residents, but the police seem to be doing nothing about it.

I love the statements on TV

Head of RCMP "We have more important things to worry about than pot"

Or the goverment guy (I forget the official title)

"There are worse things in the world and vancouver is known for this and we dont mind" (VERY paraphrasing but basically what they are saying)

Weed is illegal...but bc...doesn't care except for dealers and growers involved in coke. Weed = who cares....weed + coke = bust em all :D

and of course there is a lot of shops who don't sell (store front style anyways) but still allow the smoke...

YES!!! I haven't been there in a couple years, so I am not up on the latest. Either way, I had no problems finding. This is where I stay when I go-

here is a link to an article about a pot shop in van that the police didnt even know about, and don't really seem to mind all that much lol.

http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2004/09/01/pot_cafe040901.html

"Const. Sarah Bloor said police will meet with city officials to decide what, if anything, should be done."
Actually. The police did know. It was common knowledge and only got brought into the limelight thanks to an article a week ago or so. It even hints at what they plan to do on their business plan when they applied for a business permit (or so said the political figure stating he didn't care about pot)

Isnt it essentially decriminalized here? I read a while back some sort of levy passed in seattle to put busting people who smoke at home and buy for personal consumption at the absolute bottom of their priorities. as they realized a pothead is a pothead, and will still smoke after he is fined / jailed. and that in leu of that, it makes little sense to waste jail space an money processing charges. So basically if you get caught, he'll take your weed and pipe, but you wont get fined, or a criminal record. (unless you have tons of weed, or a scale / extra ziplocks)

Just have some for a post study-session and you'll be alright. I'm in a bunch of honors classes and sometimes it's nice to have something to stop my brain from spinning after a few hours of labour.

Oh I took the summer off and endulged for sure. Thing is, if I have it, I don't put it down, if I don't have it, how's that saying go, out of sight out of mind  I'm studying to become a nurse, so I need all the short term memory I can muster up to get through the classes. I don't want to be putting someone's life in jeopardy because I didn't make the most out of my studying in college. Although, I used to get alot of sh!t done first and then take a toke to enjoy the evening. Kind of a nice way to kick back and take in the day. Decisions decisions...
