So Al Franken's anti-rape amendment is at risk of being removed from the new defense appropriations bill. Big surprise! Defense contractors are lobbying the guy who originally proposed the bill (Dan Inouye, D, Hawaii) to remove the amendment, despite the fact it passed 68-30.

Granted, they may have a valid concern about this being abused over trivial incidents. But I think if that was their true concern, they would be trying to get the amendment changed, not removed altogether.

So the US Gov't can't work with an organization that has had some of its employees commit voter registration fraud, but working with a company that not only had it's workers commit gang-rape but protected them from prosecution is ok?

That sounds like Republican logic...

Factual or not, an investigation needed to have been done, because the administration of the rape test kit was (from what I've read) not properly handled, and an accurate result was not obtained.
The rape kit was given to her employer, where it promptly got lost.

Funny how that happened...
