I figure if the unions don't like what's going on, they should put up their own money and hire themselves to build their own building. That, or STFU. Unions are a bane of existence here in BC too. They seem to think that all political and financial decisions should be solely based on how much is in it for them.
I agree that in this case the Union can eat a stinky diseased dick. However there is a need in capitalism for employee protection. Pure capitalism does not work. It must be partially tempered by socialist policies and ideas.
Unions might have passed their sell-by date however, especially like this.
lovebunny whole heartedly agrees. my last job i was only making 6.75 an hour and by the time the union took out all there fees. we figured it out to be down to about 4.50 and my particular job didnt get any benefits at all from the union for 18 months. so we were paying for nothing
Or to protect lazy employees who don't do their jobs and simply **** off around the jobsite. Ie: every janitor and maintenance worker at the schoolboard my mom works for.
What clean toilets and wash floors? That isn't part of my job. You can't fire me, my union is too powerful.
