It's the end of an era at Snowshoe with the demolition of Spruce Lodge...

Hope they don't mind mud in their luxury condos. :sneaky:

They did use sections of the deck as bridges on the trails.

Please excuse the "special" kid in the helmet. That's Trevyn and he falls down sometimes.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man some of my best non-biking memories of snowshoe are in that place. It was a dive but it was cheep and a couple rooms had bunk beds so you could cram it full and stay cheap.
Im not sure what I am going to do now. That place was so cheap I could afford alot of trips every summer. Have to see now

Ahhh man. That place was great. The rooms were fine for sleeping and storing your crap, and the lobby was perfect for cooking out and drinking. Guess it was inevitable, but still a bummer.

Talked to snowhoe today. It is definatly going to suck not having Spruce anymore. The cheapest place to stay at the top is Rimfire and that is almost $300 for the weekend. The Inn at the bottom of the moutain is around $200. Looks like I will be camping a lot this summer. :mumble:
