Anyone had any time on the Specialized Demo 8? I did a few runs on the demo 9's we had for rental last summer, but it wasn't setup for me (spring rate was way off) and it still had those huge specialized tires........rolled very very slow. I really liked the geometry feel, but didn't really have enough time to get a good impression of the bike in a range of conditions. Only downside was the weight.

So, anyone ridden a demo 8 yet? Does it actually feel lighter than the 9? Does it still retain the fairly nimble feel of the demo 9? What about its ability to do a little bit of everything.......ie, more than just dh racing?

I doudt it I really dont think theyre shipping them yet but maybe. You might get some responses from people that went to Interbike if they had it there but I dont think anyone has had more than a test ride

I just checked and the Demo 8 is available as a frameset and as a complete bike.

As for the Demo 8, Kyle Strait won the Redbull Rampage on one.

I think the D8 with the BoXXer is available but the Pro won't ship until the fox 40 is ready.

I had the oppurtunity to order a D8 frame cuz thats what i thought i wanted next season, but the Sunday deal came up so I had to jump on it instead. The d8 should be super sweet Ill always wonder what it would have been like...
