i am picking up a demo 9 frame later this week and i was planning on using saint cranks off my karpiel and banging them on the demo 9. but the current owner has told me that you cant fit saint cranks on a demo 9 frame. but ive seen lots of pictures of demo 9's with saint cranks. also, does anyone know if 05 deemax wheels are compatible with demo 9 frames?

thanks

im not sure about saint but Raceface diaboulos works

as for the Deemax. Unless the rear hub is a 12 or 15mm thru axel and hs 150mm spacing. you need the use a diffrent wheel

It is possible to fit the Saint cranks on the Demo, but they won't work well. Same goes for the Diabolus cranks, they will fit, but you won't get a proper chainline. I think the Demo requires a 57mm chainline and you can't achieve that with either of those cranks-you need a 128mm BB to get a good chainline. No go on the Deemax either.

diabolous works. cause you can space the bb to be like a 128. the saint bb can only be about a 118.

Didn't say they wouldn't work, I just pointed out the frame requires a 57mm chainline-wider than the Diabolus can be spaced over. FYI, Race Face is doing a Diabolus with a longer spindle pressed in to work properly with 150mm rear ends.

A question regaurding the Deemax's, do the 04s work on the demo9? I cant find anywhere if they are 12 or 15 thru axle by 150mm...

Deemax is basically a 135x10mm thrue-axle so you could, if you had some custom axle, reducers and rotor spacers made. Its kinda funny the Demo uses a 135mm spacing, then it would probably be alot easier to make things work (dropout reducers).

The Demo 8 has 135mm spacing, not 150mm. The Deemax are a no-go on the Demo9.

You are most likely right, but i was told by someone who already has the frame that it is just as stiff... Wait, maybe i just read that on NSMB.com

Of course they say it's just as stiff but in reality it can't be. It may however be plenty stiff enough which is all that matters. I'd get a Demo8 then you can use Saint Cranks and Deemax...

Yeah I read that article too... I am sure it feels just as stiff, and probably is plenty stiff enough, but in reality it can't be as stiff.

EDIT: Sean beat me to it :thumb:
