Planet X flat trials bars

from the planetx site:

720mm wide oversize flat trials bar.
Pierced and drawn 7075 triple butted tubing makes for the ultimate flat bar.
31.8mm clamp gives optimum strength and stiffness to weight ratio.

Wall Thickness ; 2.0T * 4.3T * 2.0T
Width 720mm
Weight : 400gm
Colour : Black only

(width in inches is about 28.34)

STRONG, WIDE, and LOW

more people should be using flat bars

A trial bar for DH is a horrible, horrible idea.

Trial bars have a 0 degree sweep. :dead:

actually they have lots of sweep look at picture

have you ever ridden a trials bar? they feel VERY good and give a lot of control they tend to have more sweep than dh bars because they are wider and thus have to adjust to the wider angle of your arms

i dunno what trials bar your talking about

OK, I see what you mean now...if you consider a flat trial bar it may work I guess.

I based my answer considering a trial riser bar...my mistake.
A trial riser bars have an upward sweep only while a DH riser bar have an upward and a rearward sweep if you see what I mean.

What I mean is that a trial riser bar can lay flat on a plane surface while a DH bar can not.

I'm still unsure how a flat trial bar would feel for DH though.

echos are sweet too

* 720mm (28.3"), easy to control and balance.

* 31.8 mm center to make it much more stronger than regular 25.4mm.

* 7075 super strong Aluminum Butted tubing-- 2.8mm wall thickness in center tapering to 1.5mm at grip.

Weight: 380 grams/Color:Ti or Black.

Yeah I think I know what your talking about

as for how it feels for dh style riding, its so nice! because they have more sweep than a DH bar of the same width you can tweek how it feels by adjusting the angle ( much more so than you can do with riser bars as the riser bars have separate up and back sweep (sweep in the Y and X)

with a flat bar you can tilt it to reduce up sweep and increase back sweep or the other way around

overall, they just give lots of control (its like your hands and arms and shoulders are in the perfect postion to command your front wheel) useful in any riding whether its dh or trials or whatever

yes you did sooo...

if you want light go Easton if you want super stiff 31.8 clamp 4.3 mm thick 7075 you know where to go:D

but seriously people need to try something before they discredit it as in the case of flat bars NO ONE uses them yet EVERYONE complains about their front end being too high(yes i know that many complain in relation to their head angles being too slack) but many also want their bars lower and and flat bars are the answer
