Anyone heard of anything going on down there. I might be heading there in a few months.

The terrain is suitable for some nice downhill, especially in the middle part of the country near the volcano areas. Keep you bike close by, a nice bike would be gone in a second if left unattended. There are bike tour companies down there, you might want to email them directly regarding the DH scene.
