Just like anything else on the internet...people will fight to the death over it....but it doesn't matter all that much. I used DB spokes on the last 3 wheels I've built and you definitely have to pay attention to spoke twist. But as far as a SG spoke being *that* more or less stronger, your mileage may vary...

Double butted spokes build a far stronger wheel than SG, I wouldn't really consider SG spokes unless you are a very gentle rider and on a tight budget.

The only team wheel's I've had crack or flatspot were ones with straight gauge spokes, wheels built with double butted ones will stay round for a long time and barely need any adjustments

Got 4 days in on the Outlaws and they're great! Rigid enough and they held up flawlessly for my hackish plowing!

Jut keep an eye on spoke tension. Less than 10 days of riding. Pushed hard into a berm and it went. Lucky for me it was the end of a 7 days road trip.

I will give the same answear I always give for 10 years plus.

Hadley hubs Front and Rear
Mavic 729 or 823 rims if your a tubeless man
Keep 25 plus PSI

I run 32 psi F&R on DHR/DHF combo

Try to run a little higher. At 240lbs you should be closer to ~35psi probably with skinny maxxis tires.

If you're folding wheels in berms, then either the wheel build is terrible, or the spokes were almost unthreaded. Properly built DH wheels should last a long time (well not including dents) unless you're casing red bull rampage style hucks, plowing at a pro dh race pace constantly, or running woefully inadequate rims.
