On August 23rd and 24th, Diablo Freeride Park, the east coast capital of gravity racing, is set to host an action packed weekend of high-profile events. Featuring 3 unique races, a star-studded roster of professional athletes, and a renowned trail network, Diablo Freeride Park is the place to be this upcoming weekend for racers, freeriders and spectators alike.
Jeep 48Straight Loud Music. Fast Bikes. Good Times. This weekend, world class racers such as Brian Lopes, Eric Carter and Melissa Buhl, among many others will convene at Diablo Freeride Park to test their mettle at the first stop of 2008 Jeep 48Straight Mountain Bike Series. Racers will be competing on an innovative, custom built Dual Slalom course designed by Eric Carter. When the slalom racing action ends Saturday afternoon, Hells Belles, the premier all-ladies AC/DC tribute band, will take the stage at 3:30pm for a free concert. As host, Diablo Freeride Park will receive national television broadcast coverage on CBS Sports, representing the most visibility of any mountain biking event in the United States. Stay tuned, the event will air on CBS Sports on September 28th.
Diablo Domination Series #3 -The prestigious Diablo Domination Series returns! Top downhill racers from across the land will vie for valuable series championship points on one of Diablos famed technical race courses. With many top pro riders making their way to NJ for the Jeep 48Straight event, Diablo Domination #3 will prove to be a competitive battle for over $5,000 in cash and prizes!
IndyCross Debut Also this weekend, the Diablo ParkLogic Crew will be unveiling yet another new trail called IndyCross. The IndyCross course features a tight array of perfectly sculpted banked turns twisting, turning and descending down Diablo Freeride Parks lower mountain. The innovative IndyCross course was designed to provide a new trail and racing concept to Diablo Freeride Parks already extensive trail network.
