Hi.

This is probably an easy question to answer, but I was wondering if there are any problems in using a different manufacturers spring on a rear shock? Let's say you have a Fox rear shock, can you put a Manitou spring on it? Of course, same lenght and all...

Thanks!

A spring is a spring... however, I have heard some Ti spring problems on fox DHX, because the outside diameter of the spring hits the compression cartridge. As far as function/safety/ect. any spring is ok.

the inner diameter for springs are different from manufacturer to manufacturer... that being said, a manitou spring will fit a DHX, 5th Element and such...

very much not true.

Try to put a vivid or romic or avalanche spring on a DHX or manitou......

springs currently come in three inner diameters 1.38" 1.43" and 1.5" (there have been smaller ones in the past) for diferent shocks from different manufacturers.
