Alright, so in wanting to up the travel on the front end of my Steelhead, I scored a screaming deal on a brand new 2005 66rc 150mm on eGay last week.

Low and behold, the box arrives this afternoon and it contains a brand new 2006 66rc2x 170mm...****ING SWEET!

The trouble is, I think 150mm was already going to be pushing the limits of the geometry of the Steelhead.

What to do??

- Install the 170 on the Steelhead and see how it rides.
- Find a cheap used frame that's more suited for the 170mm 66 and sell the Steelhead and 130mm Z1 that it's currently outfitted with.
(ideas? Norco 6, 4 by, RM Switch...)
- ****, but I'm still stoked as the rc2x is titty!

So Cal
Send the 66 to me. I'll send you a fork with less travel so that your bike rides correctly.

Your bike will ride like poo with that much fork. Mine rode like poo with a 5" fork. Either buy a new frame or a new fork.
Steelheads ride like poo with any fork.

I'm thinking of going to a Morphine if I stick with a hardtail or a DirtBag if I upgrade to a fully. Thoughts?
