What a great year its turning out for the DH World cups. The coverage from the likes of www.Littermag.com (a nice short collection of the coolest pics and captions going) and www.dirtmag.co.uk 's amazing videos are really showing the riding and the atmosphere between the racers as it should be shown, top notch.

Has any one noticed that Sam Hill seems to be alot happier talking in front of the camera this year? In most videos on the net from this year he seems to be really opening up, whats the big change? Really loving all his little interviews, makes him seem more human and less DH Machine!!

And Peat, what a legend, fingers crossed for Canbera, hope I'm still capable of riding a bike when I get to his age!

Thanks to all the photographers, journalist and flimers for making this one brilliant year for DH.

Gotta wonder if Specialized doesn't have something to do with it. maybe a little 'media training' in the offseason? Hanging around with Brendan probably hasn't hurt either.

Sam's always been pretty funny, it's just not on public display the way it is with some other riders.

Couldn't agree more.. Both dirt and littermag have been doing an excellent job..
Also impressed w/how bike companies/teams have stepped up big time providing video coverage of each race(Specialized, CRC Intense, Trek, Animal-Commencal, and of course the pioneers of podcasts, Yeti). I think Yeti did such a good job along w/the help of Clay Porter last year, it really made everyone else take notice.

Yeah looks like Sam Hill is finally looking more comfortable in front of a lens. He was pretty funny after he got 2nd at La Bresse, saying that he gave Peat the Victory as a baby gift. It might have something to do with him having a solid team behind him, especially with all the details coming out now about all the problems with Ironhorse.

..and yes thanks to all the Photographers/Journalists/filmers/teams/riders for making this year pretty damn solid already!

Sam called me 'buddy' when I interviewed him at the otter...un-provoked, I think it was a media first.

Sam is Sam, he is a genuine guy, just quiet and takes time to warm up to people, he has been on the circuit a LONG time now, the riders, media are like a 2nd family to him so he is comfortable...not really rocket science.

And yes, the pics and captions on litter have kicked all kinds of a$$

I think Mr. Hill is a little more stoked w/ the Specialized portion of the paycheck as well. It has to be much better than the Iron Donkey one was, the Big S doesn't mess around. If you can deliver the goods, they will make it worth your while.

YEah. Sammy probably has a little less stress in his life as far as paychecks are concerned.

thanks for the littermag props!

i agree, everyone mentioned (video/photo guys) are ruling this year. it's so awesome to feel a part of the race w/o having to be there. big thanks to freecaster too. i haven't had one glitch yet w/ webcast (aside from the lightning strike in la bresse, which is hardly their fault).

boosh!

media blackout
same:clapping: that and reminding certain WoWhead friends that they are complete and total wastes of life
When I was in college everyone was all OMGWTFBBQ for counterstrike and unreal. WoW wasn't big until my senior year, and by then I was so drunk most of the time that I didn't even take notice.

Everything is 5 times bigger when you're a hobbit.
except for your own wang.

that crash looked gross. I can see why he is thankful to not be dead, that's a horrible place and way to crash.

Big thanks to everyone for getting so much media out there about this stuff. I remember when I was first getting into bikes, I would pee my pants in excitement to see some shoddy coverage of a race on OLN thursday nights. This is infinitely better these days and I am so excited that it seems to only be getting better!

That and he has Brendan around him 24/7 now. It's rubbing off on him. They spent all of Africa doing Borat impressions.

The lightning strike was totally their fault. They wrapped all their camera and live feed wires around a statue of Jesus. Once warner was on the mic is was armegeddon. The wires actually wrapped around the crown of thorns.
