get as far north as you can. We took a train 16 hours north of Stockholm and ended up in Lapland some 70km north of the Arctic Circle, Nightly Auroras in the high north mountains where both Norway and Sweden get their hydro electric power

Oslo is cool.

But go to the fjords. They are moar cooler.

Oh - visit the Frogner Park. Cool sculptures made by Vigeland. And take the metro up to Holmenkollen - they have a ski jump and some hiking trails.

looks like my iPhone 4s and Verizon will allow for international operations. anyone have real world experience with this? good, bad, expensive, etc?

i looked into it when i went to belgium. prohibitively expensive. also, no data only options.

i was also only traveling by public transit, and could snag wifi easily enough that i had no issues.

Norway is the British Coulmbia of yurp.
Leave your mobile at home. Get into the wild. Take photos. Post 'em when you are back in the states.

did the park and sculptures. looked at doing the ski jump trip, but couldn't work it in.
