The last time I took the tandem out for a ride, the disc brake on the rear wheel began making this pretty constant, high pitched humming or whirring noise. The bike is brand new, only been ridden about a half dozen times, and only in dry weather and on paved roads (it's a road tandem). Any idea if this is dirty pads or what else it could be?

which brakes are they? have you tried to realign the caliper or checking to see if the disc is bent?

Hmm..... well, the brake was fine on our ride last night. Very odd... I would suspect that I was just going insane, but my son very clearly heard it on our last ride as well! Maybe it was just something about "the air" last Thursday.

Did you look at the calipers to see if either of the pads were contacting the rotor?
