What are you all using to take the burs off your rotors? I smacked a rock on last night's ride, and the rotor is making a humming noise through the caliper. There is noticeable scratching along the edge of the rotor.

If you can't buff it out with emery cloth, you probably need a new one. I think if you took a file to it you'd have to be careful not to decrease the thickness of the rotor. A thin spot could create skid inducing pulsing.

buffing wheel...attached to a lathe or grinder motor....and polish it out....need to use same precautions as Oldfart mentioned.....
