Do you guys know where I could get a disk adapter for a hardtail with no disk mount? I thought that someone made one that attached to the V brake post and the dropout but I can't find one. thanks

I have an older ATX frame from 1996 with no disk mounts. I run an Avid Mechanical up front and XT V-brake in the rear both with Avid SD-5 levers. While not perfect the set up does give me additional braking power where I need it most. It doesn't take too much time to learn a good technique for using a front disk only equiped ride.

i was going to get an adapter for my frame and i found one that was pretty cheap called a hammerhead or something (i can find out more if you want it) but i decided that its probably not a good idea to add something like that cause it puts a totaly diff. set of stresses on a frame and you could get a new frame for pretty cheap anyway

i have a 01 scab, with no disc mount, and i also thought about this. but for how much it is going to cost to you buy the adapter and then get the disc and etc. it's just probably easier to get a good v-brake and a carbon fiber booster. especially if you ride urban that way you won't hit your rear disc off anything.;)
