Disk Brake Adjustment

Alright so i just got a black market 357 and its pretty sick. but i just need some help with adjusting the brakes.
so the bike comes stock with a rear tektro aquila disk brake and the inside pad is rubbing against the disk and creating resistance and wearing down the pad.
i tried looking through other forums and they said the brakes just need to be broken in but i think my problem is more than that. i also tried the tektro website but its not letting me through.
if any of you have this brake, there is a big silver screw on the inside and i loosened that and it seemed to help, but im afraid this might screw something up with the set up and fall apart or something.
so any suggestions to do something different? or is what i did fine?

That inner "screw" is the set pad's adjustment. Clockwise pushes the pad in, counter outward. The pad should sit as flush with the disc as possible and as close as possible without rubbing (too much).

Loosen the bolts holding the caliper and place a shim (playing card or similar) between the inside pad and the rotor.
Squeeze the brake lever and then tighten the caliper back up.
That should get you pretty good alignment.
