I'm new to DH after riding bmx and urban for around 4 yrs... So I dislocated my shoulder at Whistler and want back on my Banshee scream... **Anyone had any experience with a dislocated shoulder and getting back to riding?**
I look at/work on/think about/ dream about riding my bike everyday and even rode 4x around the lake today (which supposedly I'm not supposed to do)... I just want back on but don't wanna mess myself up worse... Anybody who has went through this and got back on there bike I would like to hear from you...

i had a 4th degree seperation of the AC joint in the shoulder and it took me months before i got back on the bike just for xc stuff. Granted, i'm a lazy bastard and have done very little in the way of rehab but for the first two months i could barely lift my bike let alone ride it. I've been riding downhill (on my hardtail) for the first time this month since February when i first injured it.

my friend recently did it in the early spring feb snowboarding, had surgury and raced in may.He had it in a sling for about a month. did the recommended rehab. but didn't go above and beyond or anything nuts
but the fact that he is also 18 may have somthing to do with the quick recovery.

my shoulder comes out once every ride or so... painfully. it's something i've learned to live with. just concentrate on keeping your shoulders tucked back and you should be fine.

I tore my shoulder AC (the other one) last year... I was dirt jumping on a BMX... imediately after I went on this planed trip to europe w/my Mom and brothers and got back 2 weeks later and had it exrayed... I just went back to work because I didn't want to burn sick time (which I thank god for)... I guess it wasn't a worse case AC seperation... thanks for your input

Cronodo35 do you have to do lifting at work? do you think you'll need shoulder surgery in the future?... when you say "....keep your shoulders tucked back..." you mean during a crash rite? thanks for your input...
