dj 1 rebuild

i am putting new uppers on my dj1 and ran into the problem that there is a bolt on each leg holding the fork togather. now it looks like marzocchi must have a special socket head tool that fits in that small of a space. does anyone know that such a tool exists?

I don't specifically know about the DJ1, but all I've needed when disassembling Marzocchi forks is an extension for my socket wrench. It's just a long, thin bar with a female socket on one end and a male on the other. Should work.

They need a thin wall 12mm socket. I got a standard 12mm socket and ground it down, others have just carefully used multigrips.

It depends how old the fork is i guess, anything 03 onwards needs the thin wall socket, where as the first DJ series offerings were 02 and needed the socket extension.

You are supposed to use a thin wall socket, I used (VeRy CaReFuLLy) vise grips. Someone else used them with success, I was really nervous to try it, but it worked out ok.
