Do I have a bent hanger or do I suck at wrenching?

I've got an XTR rear derailure.

I just replaced the cables and chain and I can't, for the life of me, dial in the rear derailure. It's perfect except for the innermost chainring. It will shift up to it but won't securely stay on that ring.

It doesn't matter if I adjust the L screw or the barrel adjuster. Nothing seems to make it sit well on that ring.

The chain tension is good. Is the hanger bent?

I'm getting frustrated, I want to ride in the morning.

B-tension screw?

pushing on the derailleur while turning the pedals, can you get it into the largest cog easily?

Actually yeah, if I push it in a little the chain sits on the ring perfectly and the derailure stays in place.

B screw is the one sitting on the actual hanger no? Which way do I turn it then?

EDIT:

Fixed it. I just had to tighten the cable in the screw. Thanks for the suggestion Inbred.

Nothing like working on somehting for a while and having it all come together. Nice!!
