this is where the inner lib(ertarian) wants to command my urges.

on the hill is a bill to punish poopoo talk by broadcasters. I'm ambivalent in that
  • we have too many laws
  • ...yet we still have an obligation to decency

true to form, here's some fun gov't wordplay:
`(b) As used in this section, the term `profane', used with respect to language, includes the words `s***', `p***', `f***', `c***', `a******', and the phrases `c*** s*****', `m***** f*****', and `a** h***', compound use (including hyphenated compounds) of such words and phrases with each other or with other words or phrases, and other grammatical forms of such words and phrases (including verb, adjective, gerund, participle, and infinitive forms).'.
looks like quentin tarantino needs a new gig.

thoughts?

on the state level, a law was passed in georgia wednesday which prohibits female genital mutilation.

"Hightlights":
Any person:
(1) Who knowingly circumcises, excises, or infibulates, in whole or in part, the labia majora, labia minora, or clitoris of a female;
i wonder if that covers gender reassignment surgery?

**** this bill... and **** the ****ers that ****ing thought it up. Probably some religious ******* was sitting in front of his TV ******** off and heard the word **** and it made his **** go limp.

In all seriousness, I really think people in this country should toughen up a little. Not physically, but mentally a lot of people in the US are just far to easily offended.

I'd love to be remembered for such a fine piece of legislaition. :eek:
The basis of the law is good---to prevent mutilation like female circumcision. The law is named after a girl who was mutilated by her father. Per news stories, this is apparently becoming more of an issue in Georgia because of increased immigration from African areas where such practices are a normal rite of passage. However, I think it goes too far on “outlawing” piercing that a woman chooses.

The way I read it it's OK for a woman over 18 yrs. to do any of that to herself... It's just if others do it?... I suppose that could mean the guy at the piercing place? Or does getting a piercing count as self inflicted?

you can have your wal-mart culture if you want it... :monkey: it's almost stating the obvious that genital mutiliation is not a standard practice, and this instance says just about nothing about the value of imported cultures.

btw, since the word you are trying to create comes from "diversify", it would have that pesky "f" in there too. "diversification".
