I'm having one hell of a time finding an "awesome" Christmas gift for my little girl - I have about $300 left to spend on her - I was thinking about an electric scooter but she loves riding her bike so I'm kinda leaning away from that. Just wondering if anyone on here might have some recommendations.

Dogs don't always make it to 10 or 11 years old and need an electric scooter either :D

In a van.... down by the river
tell your kid to get a job, keep the $300 for yourself.
This is the correct answer.

Deposit that $300 into an investment account. Im sure she'll understand the power of compounding gains and thank you for the foresight and generosity.
This also is the correct answer.

303 $0.99 tacos? Everybody loves tacos!
Wow - third correct answer... impressive.

who picks up dogshit in the woods....
Out here, at least, *you* should pick up your dog's shit if you're in the woods. Otherwise, we can't have nice things.

Besides the obvious two answers (boot straps and push ups) my daughter went through a DIY slime phase around that age, so maybe some arts and crafts materials to round things out.

I bookmarked this recipe back in the day:

Suggestions for bigger ticket items:

drone / RC car
new tablet/chromebook
nintendo switch

Oh yeah, we had those for a couple of years. They are pretty cool, but you do end up with once-were-working but now slightly broken junk kicking around that your kids are loathe to let you throw out...

we have a 10yo and 15 yo of the male variety.

we've done kiwi crates - it's cool for a year, but then yeah, stuff kicking around. our kids have a variety of scooters, hoverboards, etc, that they like. we got one of the go-kart type attachments for the hoverboard, which was popular. Maybe one of those platform swings? A slackline? A hammock and hanging straps?
